Frequently Asked Questions

Clear details on scope, stack ownership, credential handling, and post-launch support.

What is Hetzner, in simple words?

A hosting company in Germany. You rent a server the way you rent an office: a monthly bill, a machine that is yours to use, and no surprise “per click” cloud fees unless you add extras.

When do you recommend Hetzner instead of Azure or AWS?

When the product is a normal website or API, Europe is a fine place for the server, and you want control without a large Microsoft or Amazon bill. We do not put every product on Hetzner — only those that fit.

Can you move our site from another VPS?

Yes. We copy the current server, set up Hetzner, move the data, then change the domain. We keep a rollback window so the old server can still answer if something is wrong.

Will we get a password and a document?

You get key-based access, the live URL, how backups run, and a short checklist for “the site is down.” We do not leave a shared root password in a chat.

Will you harden an existing account?

Yes. We review IAM, billing alerts, network rules, and backups before adding new workloads.

Do you document the handoff?

Every delivery includes access notes, env maps, and restore steps so your team is not guessing after we leave.
